Warranty

Please follow our Laundry Guidelines to ensure your products are properly cared for on a daily basis.

Monkey Doodlez® products are warranted to be free of manufacturing defects for a period of one year post purchase. This one year warranty covers aplix, snaps, sewing or manufacturing defects and lamination. The warranty is only extended to the original purchaser of the products and a proof of purchase is required. Leaking does not constitute manufacturing defect. The elastic has a warranty of 180 days.

If you experience issues with your products within one year of purchase, please contact us at support@monkeydoodlez.com and we will work with you to address your concerns. If a manufacturing defect is suspected, the product is to be returned to us for examination and if confirmed, the product will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. We do not pay or reimburse shipping charges. You must have a proof of purchase that clearly states the date in order to receive a diaper replacement. Receipt must be from an authorized dealer.

Once we receive your information and product, Monkey Doodlez will review your item(s) and/or provide instructions for resolving any potential issues. Should the issue be the result of a manufacturing defect, please allow up to 4 weeks for repair or replacement.

Warranty does not cover the following:

• When the Laundry Guidelines are not followed

• Staining or washing issues

• A detergent containing any of the following: enzymes, brighteners, chlorine bleaches, whiteners, dyes or natural colors, perfumes, essential oils or additive soaps has been used on the products.

• Diaper rash cream which has ruined a diaper – these creams clog the inserts pores and will prevent absorption. Do not use Diaper Rash Creams without a liner or a disposable insert.

• We do not replace any diapers not purchased through one of Monkey Doodlez’s retailers, particularly if traded, bought through a third party, or bought as a used diaper.

• We do not replace diapers that were won through social media, magazine, or blog giveaways.

Staining

Monkey Doodlez is not responsible for any staining of the diapers. The fleece and inserts may experience some staining due to different diets of babies/children and residues. We do suggest stripping your diapers and drying them in the sun for natural bleaching. Non-Chlorine bleach can be used occasionally. Any urethane film is affected by bleach, chlorine and dry heat exceeding 130 degree F.

Laundry Guidelines - Monkey Doodlez® Diapers

Before using
We recommend that the diapers be washed 4-6 times to remove the natural oils from the fibres and open the fabric pores for maximum absorbency before use.
Cleaning
Knock solids into the toilet and shake or rinse off any residue. Monkey Doodlez Tuck and Go Inserts can be stored in either a dry diaper pail or a wet diaper pail; however the Covers and our All-in-One Diapers should always be stored in a dry diaper pail. Prolonged soaking will damage the Covers and All-in-One Diapers. Wash in hot water between 145 and 165 degrees F (65 to 75 degrees C). Use any detergent that does not contain enzymes, brighteners, chlorine bleaches, whiteners, dyes or natural colors, perfumes, essential oils or additive soaps. Typically, only half of the recommended amount is needed. Do not use fabric softener or chlorine bleach. When using powdered detergents, it is recommended that you dissolve the powder in hot water prior to adding to the machine.
It is highly recommended to give an extra rinse cycle as any minute traces of the detergent or any other washing chemicals which are left in the diaper / product made from the PUL, are highly detrimental to the film and reduces the life of the laminate. Tumble dry on medium heat of not more than 130 degrees F (50 degrees C) or hang to dry.
Please DO NOT wring or iron on the film side.
Whenever possible, hang your diapers outside to dry naturally. Not only will you conserve energy, but your diapers will also benefit from natural bleaching by the sun.Any urethane film is affected by bleach, chlorine and dry heat exceeding 130 degree F.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I choose natural fibres over synthetic fibres?
A: Natural fibres such as organic cotton, hemp and bamboo are a great choice for diapers because they are highly absorbent, breathable and in the case of bamboo and hemp, naturally anti-bacterial. Natural fibres are less prone to hold odours and are less likely to lead to skin sensitivities and allergic reactions than synthetic fibres. Natural fibres are easily renewable and environmentally friendly to produce. Synthetic fibres such as polyester fleece and microfiber are made using chemical compound including crude oil and Ethylene glycol. Synthetic fibres tend to hold odours over time and because they are not breathable, they can lead to increasing scrotal temperatures comparable to those created by plastic disposable diapers.

Q: Are cloth diapers really healthier for my baby?
A: The short answer is yes, they are. The chemicals used in the manufacturing process of disposable diapers are linked to cancers, hormone changes and even respiratory issues. Babies using disposable diapers are more likely to experience diaper rash and typically take 6-12 months longer to potty train than cloth diapered babies. Studies have shown links between the use of disposable diapers and declining fertility rates in males. In addition, the environmental impact of the disposal of plastic diapers is almost beyond measure considering each diaper takes an estimated 500 years to break down in the landfill. Q: Will cloth diapers really save me money?
A: Your baby will go through approximately 6000 diapers from birth to potty training! With an investment in cloth diapers (which if properly cared for will last for more than one baby) can save you anywhere from $500 - $1000 for your first child and beyond!

Q:What size do I need?
A: Please refer to product descriptions for size charts

Q: I have my diapers…now what?
A: The first thing you need to do before you start using your diapers is to give them a wash. We suggest washing on hot with a reduced amount of detergent (appx 1/3 of the recommended amount), and rinse in cold. Go ahead and machine dry on hot, but be sure to only damp dry as extended periods in a hot dryer with very dry fabrics will cause damage and shorten their life expectancy. As the inner absorbent core or pads are made of natural fibers, you will find that your diapers will need a minimum of 3-5 laundering cycles to reach maximum absorbency. This is because cotton has natural oils that need to be washed away in order for the fibers to fully absorb. See our Laundry Guidelines (LINK) for details on how to care for your diapers.

Q: Help…my diapers are leaking!
A: The most common reason that your Monkey Doodlez® diaper may leak is that there is oil hampering the absorbency. This may be in the form of oil residue either from detergents, creams or in the case of a new diaper, natural oils in the fibers that need to be laundered away.
To check to see if you have residue on your diaper, and if your diaper is repelling, pour a little bit of water on a clean, dry diaper. If the diaper is residue free, the water will absorb right in. If the water balls up and rolls around, this is because there is an oily coating on the fabric. Simply rub a little bit of dish detergent (we recommend DAWN) on the inner surface of the diaper and rub to a lather. Rinse and pop in the wash. This is extremely effective at ridding any oils from your diaper and will resolve your leaking problem due to residue. This also works extremely well for getting rid of odours, as those are typically trapped in the oils.
Monkey Doodlez® diapers typically measure larger size for size than other diapers, so be sure to check our sizing guide, and note that the weights are approximate only as all babies are different. If you find that there are gaps at the legs or waist, you may find that a smaller size is in order. Your baby may have also outgrown the absorbency of their diaper, and a doubler may be in order.
Doublers are simply extra absorbency pads that lay right inside the diaper, increasing the diaper's absorbency, or simply tuck in a second TAG pad. These are fantastic for naps, overnight or just added assurance if you have a very heavy wetter.

Q: Can I use Diaper Creams?
A: In most cases, diaper creams/salves have the potential to leave a residue on your diapers that can hinder absorbency. Even the most "natural" creams and salves can cause issues when used in excess. In most cases, cloth diapered babies experience far LESS diaper rash than babies exposed to disposable diapers and therefore, the need for diaper creams/salves is greatly reduced. There is no need to use a cream or salve on your baby at every diaper change - this is more a habit that we've gotten into because our mothers and grandmothers used them. Dry and Bare is best! However, if you do need to use a cream or salve, try to choose one that does not contain petroleum or zinc and opt to use a liner to prevent the transfer of the cream or salve to the diaper.
